Please pray for my neighbor who is now, unfortunately, in hospice. - TopicsExpress

Please pray for my neighbor who is now, unfortunately, in hospice. This lady has been such a constant since I have lived at this complex the past three years. It has always been like a sitcom as I would come and go from work, passing her by almost on schedule as I made my way to the bus and then waayyy later in the day (or night) coming home from work. We always would share anecdotes in passing (she would usually be standing out on her porch having a smoke or just seeing what was going on), That, over time, turned in to me sharing my books and she sharing whatever came out of her oven. Such a sweet lady so full of life and vigor that I hardly recognized her getting more frail over the course of time. Then, sadly, she did start to show her frailties and come this past 4th of July that was it, she finally went to the hospital and found out the inevitable. She has cancer. It has not been pretty and it sucks. She did get well enough to come home about 2 months ago and we saw her almost make it to Christmas, but as I was coming home from work on December 23rd I saw an ambulance go by... and I wondered. Yes, it was her I soon found out and now today her son has asked us close to her to try to come rally around because this is it... We are planning to go visit her on Wednesday, due to schedules et al. I hope we make it and I hope my smile and laugh brings her the comfort and joy it used to bring her. Beaming prayers Billies way. What a great and profound way she has touched me with her presence and kind words and pleasantries; and here, for the longest, we were always just passing each other by.
