Every effort you make increases the number of voters who may have once considered voting republican, and is now resolved to vote for anyone but a republican. o This is especially true for youth turning 18 every day. Teens turning 18 since 2000 dont know the party of Reagan or the party of Lincoln. These teens know only the party of W and the Tea Party and the party of No and the ist, phobic, and anti party. Every day, about 18,000 youth turn 18. That means since 2000, almost 92 MILLION youth have turned 18, became eligible to vote, and cast their first votes in national elections. Social science has repeatedly demonstrated that how people vote in their first few elections, is a solid indicator of how theyre likely to vote for the rest of their lives. The majority of youth have been voting for democrats and independents, not Republicans. 92 million!!! Mostly voting for anyone other than a Republican. And every day you break into offices, try to repeal sensible legislation, try to block people from voting, try to restrict their health care options, try to tell them how to live their lives and to form their relationships, try to keep those in need from receiving the help being offered to them.... Every day you do anything like that, youve lost the opportunity to attract another 18,000 youth to support Republican ideals. In fact, perhaps only 40% of that 18,000 would have potentially voted Republican given normal statistical breakdowns, so your potential pool was likely only 7200 to begin with. And now youve likely lost most of those as well. Please proceed GOP, please proceed. You are the single greatest contributors to your partys demise.
