Please read all of this, my friends, as it names Angels in our midst at the end. As many of you know, I moved back into my little house in Marion the 2nd week of August. What many of you dont know is I was in the pits of despair that first week. Having been placed on disability by my Dr. for PTSD, receiving 1/2 pay since December, I found myself in a house that was literally rotting down around me. In fact, Page Gibbs, the roofer, said he was surprised the roof had not caved in on the back. Depression can run so deep, and I was there. THAT is when my Angels began to surround me. In a world that is so rapidly changing and seemingly losing its humanity, my angels are proof that there is still goodness in this world. Before I knew it, a whirlwind of goodness occurred. On numerous occasions, my house has been crawling with people with paint brushes, screw drivers, laughter (often at my expense lol, my favorite kind) and good cheer. We are still painting, all doors have been replaced, and the house was prepared for painting by Jane Neals church youth group (cleaning geniuses). TODAY, the roof was finished, so I am now in the dry. These angels gave me hope where there was none, and I will be forever grateful. I never in a million years thought that in less than 3 short months, I would have a roof! I am humbled to my very soul. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. MY ANGELS ARE: Financial Donations: Billy Quinn, Bobby and Sonja Elledge, Bev and Cedric Miller, Bud and Esther Reel, Harriet and Tommy Rockett, Doug and Carol Hensley, Nancy and John Connelly, Ed and Ruth Nelson, Charles and Brenda Turner, Jane Neal, Margaret Hawes Blackwell, Jan Cooper, Sandy Bullman, Jim Reel. PLEASE know how thankful I am. Times are tough for everyone now days, so I am overwhelmed by your kindness. Labor (these people have worked their fingers to the bone and have left my house tired puppies). They have sacrificed days on my behalf and I am blessed to have their friendship: Billy Quinn (because of his totally going WAY and beyond, will forever be considered Head Honcho Guardian Angel), Nancy Laughridge Connelly, John Connelly Harriet Allen Rockett, Tommy Rockett, Doug Hensley, Carol Ratledge Hensley, Bev Glenn, Jay Glenn, Jane Neal and her fabulous group of youngsters, Brad and Mary Ledbetter, Rebecca Hare Lehman, Tessa Higgins, Storm Higgins, and Robin Walker. Whew! I love you guys so much! Materials donated: Tar paper and starter shingles by Paul Barnes, Plastic (to put me in temp. dry) Kit Hicks (not to mention the fact that he has driven to Shelby and Gastonia twice a month to take me to my Dr. appts, as well as April Bolejack for the same thing and ongoing giving of love and assistance. Also, Page Gibbs I am sure donated with a fair (or better) price. If I have missed anyone, please forgive me and know that you are appreciated. A couple of people have mentioned sending donations for the fascia and soffits. Their names are not known to me at this time, but will be posted. Praise God! Have Mercy! I have been blessed. It is a time to believe in miracles.
