I decided to start this organization when I was diagnosed with bone cancer for the 3rd time in 2013. I first started this fight in 2005 with a Giant Cell turmor to the spine, counting that surgery I have had a total of 5 surgeries due to tumors, both malignant and non maligant, and other damage to my spine from the tumors. This ultimately ended my career as a firefighter/paramedic medically retired in 2008. As I began looking for help and support to help not only my self but our family through this trying time, I found that there were none. I then began finding other friends through facebook who have been dealing with the same struggles and the group began. The logo to our group was created by total chance, I was at a tattoo festival at South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as I was looking through all of the books I came accross a dragon fly with a trail shaped into a cancer ribbon, though it was beautiful, I really wanted something more profound, and the tattoo artist drew it up and the rest is history!
