Please read on. I’m in need of your feedback. As many of you know, my daughter was married in late December and I outfitted much of her reception with vintage pieces. I am toying with starting a spin-off business as part of my antique shop which rents these and other decorative pieces. My question is, “Is there a market for such rentals in our area?” I need to know if this is a direction which is worth pursuing. Should I spend my time and energy storing and cataloguing these pieces, then getting the word out about this venture? I have off-white dishware (dinner and salad plates) for 72 persons and green-edged place settings (several size plates, two styles of bowls and cups and saucers) for 120 or more. All of these pieces are in like new condition. There are wine stems, champagne flutes and silverplate flatware. They don’t all match, but they are very similar. Also available are beautiful pitchers, decorative candy dishes, serving pieces and large vases, to name a few things. You get the idea. If there is interest, I will put together a catalog showcasing the complete inventory. My thought is that if you are “green” or just like the warmth of real items vs. plastic and paper, these pieces are out there for you. I can picture them being used for birthday parties, retirement get-togethers, bridal and baby showers and smaller weddings. Please let me know how you feel about this. Is it something that you can see using in the future? Any feedback would be appreciated. Please pass this post on to friends and family. I’m interested in anyone’s reactions. Feel free to e-mail me at threegreysantiques@hotmail or facebook message me. The business, Three Greys Antiques, has a facebook page. If you are planning an event currently and would like to discuss possibilities, feel free to call the shop at (856) 451-4739. Thanks for your feedback. Please pass this on to other folks in the area.
