Please say Hello to Duke. Duke was another long time resident, who recently resides in foster care with one of our volunteers Joe Rap. After spending about a year in our shelter, Duke is being trained to understand basic commands by his foster dad. Through clicker training Duke now knows the basic commands of sit, stay, down, give paw and come. Duke is EXCELLENT in his crate, he makes NO messes and does not harm himself, NO separation anxiety. Duke has learned how to use a doggie door to go outside on his own and come back into the house. Duke really enjoys the company of his foster dads dog and would do well in a home with another dog that would accept him as his foster dads dog has done towards him. His foster dad also believes Duke would also excel as the lone dog in the family as he would get all the attention. In his current foster care, Duke resides with NO cats, so we are not sure how Duke will respond to cats. Duke can be cat-tested at Petsmart. Duke, is another dog that does not show well at adoption events due to his timid and shy nature, but he has been doing better lately at adoption events. Duke is gaining self-confidence every day in foster care. His foster dad says Duke is making great strides in his development and is ready to find his forever home preferably with children. Thank You! Dukes foster adoption video created by his foster dad can be seen here youtu.be/avdquTJI3O8
