Please see photos by Hannah Gregus from this mornings pig save vigil outside Fearmans Pork Inc (fear man killing facility)- located in Burlington ON. We had 7 people and two canine attendees bearing witness today to the pigs and their suffering. We witnessed 9 trucks in one hour and a half. Each truck was full of sweet, innocent, beautiful and traumatized pigs. This morning was my first time seeing the pigs since my last experience and pig save video. No matter how many times I have watched my own and others footage or have even seen the pigs for myself- nothing prepares you for each new vigil experience... My heart aches for the souls we met today. Thinking about what they have gone through- what they have experienced- and what happened to them this morning is devastating. They were treated as a product- a commodity~ with no respect or consideration- meanwhile what they are going through is an experience most of us wouldnt wish on anyone. Looking into their blue, brown and green eyes today, my heart broke thinking about what it could only possibly be like for them. What they are experiencing is beyond what I believe we can imagine. Im still shaking and feel trauma from my experience only seeing what they went through this morning. As hard as it is to see the animals, just think about what they are going through- Agnes Cseke. I believe in the power of bearing witness. I believe in our message and that these animals deserve more~ so much more. I believe in change. I believe everyone has the power to make the connection = the connection between what/who they are eating and where they have truly come from// what that individual experienced. If we werent there today bearing witness, every pig pictured here would have died unnoticed, without a story or a face. With no one having realized what they may have gone through to produce what their innocent soulless bodied have now been dismembered and chopped up into. “When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him who suffers, and try to help.” – Leo Tolstoy Please join us this Thursday, January 15 2015 for a Toronto Cow Save vigil at St. Helens Meat Packers located at 1 Glen Scarlett Road (one block North West of St. Claire and Keele Toronto ON) 11AM-1PM ~ torontopigsave.org/starting-a-pig-save-like-group-in-your-area torontopigsave.org/slaughterhouses-in-near-t-o/
