Please see the following facts about the appointments of Dr. M.D. Tiwari, Director, IIIT Allahabad: 1. [First Appointment as OSD] Dr. M.D. Tiwari was appointed as OSD for IIIT Allahabad in 1999. 2. [Second Appointment as Director] Dr. M. D. Tiwari was appointed as Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad for a period of three years w.e.f. 21.1.2002. 3. [First Extension] The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal for continuance of Dr. M. D. Tiwari as Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad for a further period of two years w.e.f. 22.1.2005 up to 21.1.2007 or until further orders which ever was earlier. 4. The tenure of the Director came to an end on 21.1.2007. 5. [Second Extension]The Appointments Committee of Cabinet vide letter dated 1.3.2010 approved the proposal for partial modification in the period of reappointment for a full term of five years w.e.f. 27.12.2007 instead of w.e.f. 21.1.2007. 6. [Third Extension] It was further mentioned in the said letter that Appointments Committee of Cabinet has also issued ex-facto approval for the period 21.1.2007 to 26.12.2007. Communications in this context was issued on 7.3.2012 and 19.3.2012 by the Government of India. Dr. M.D. Tiwari, Director, IIIT Allahabad is continuing in IIIT Allahabad from 1999 with three years as OSD and subsequently as Director from 21.1.2002. It is more than 14 years now since M. D. Tiwari is the heading IIIT Allahabad. It is a matter of concern and competency of MHRD that it did not able to find a better person to head IIIT Allahabad which is a center of excellence established by GoI out of more than 1.2 billion Indians. Therefore, it is my request to Dr. MM Pallam Raju, HRD Minister, GoI to please remove Dr. M.D. Tiwari, Director, IIIT Allahabad as soon as possible so that he may not be able to ruin the institute further.
