Please see your physicians when you are well. This is my week to - TopicsExpress

Please see your physicians when you are well. This is my week to take care of all of my doctors appointments. Rather, this is the week when my doctors all take care of me. I try to schedule them all in the same week, so I get in the mode of filling out paperwork and just the rhythm of going from one appointment to the next. I am the engine and they are the mechanics. Go in for scheduled maintenance. Please dont wait until you are broken down by the side of the road or have a flat tire to communicate with healers that are at your disposal at all times. After my appointment today, I was delighted to hear from my primary care doctor, who is also an internist and one of the best doctors in New York. Vic, get out of here, you are medically boring- but it is always great seeing you. While my doctor is examining me, he discusses the most fascinating health topics. If you ask questions your doctors will answer you. Most people dont avail themselves of the most knowledgeable people around them. If at the end of your exam, your doctor asks , Do you have any questions- pull out a list that you worked on the night before. Ask about thing that interests you or concerns you about you even questions about nutrition and bodybuilding. Also discuss any mental health issues. They should know. Get as much as you can from your doctor- they are more than willing to give. And, if they are not- find another. When you care very deeply about your health, you will find a doctor who does the same. Choose wisely, ask friends, colleagues, neighbors and friends for caring professionals. Get to love that doctor. When I was a kid, doctors visits were very unpleasant, mostly because I went when I was ill. If you feel the same, show up when you are well for a physical- changes the whole pattern of going only when there is a problem. You are valuable. Be well. Peace, Vic
