Please send some white light to Dogs Today office dog Betty who is at the emergency vet on a drip. During the night she managed to open a drawer and ate a long forgotten packet of Senna Max tablets, 48 in all. At 4.30am she raised the alarm herself by asking to go out and by 5am she was at the vets having an injection to make her sick and the poisons unit at Guys Hospital were wide awake, too and giving advice to the emergency vet on what to do next. Shes had some Buscapan to help with the cramping and is sleeping it off while on an IV drip. Were hoping she will be well enough to come home this evening. If you have a clever dog, do use our horrible scare to remind you to take a fresh look at your home again through their eyes to see theres anything they could get their paws on that could do them harm. If your dog ever eats anything you arent sure about, the sooner you can get your dog to the vet the better. Were hoping we caught this ASAP and she will soon be back to her usual cheeky self but your collective good wishes for a speedy recovery might help a little, too. x
