Please share! This is Whisper, my foster kitty. When I first - TopicsExpress

Please share! This is Whisper, my foster kitty. When I first met her, she had just been rescued from a life of abuse and neglect. She was very scared and traumatized. She hid in her igloo and rarely came out if anyone was around. If you reached in to pet her she would bite and swat. The shelter was a stressful environment for her, so I took her on as a foster. Within a week she started to venture out, and soon began to let me pet her. She has steadily progressed ever since, and now, about three months later I think shes ready for her forever home. She now seeks out attention, sits on my lap, and loves to play. She gets along great with our youngest cat, and I think she might even enjoy living with an easy going, non-aggressive kitty. She is fine with our dogs, but they mostly ignore her. She really is a sweet kitty, but she still has a little PTSD. If shes feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed she does still swat and nip some. But she will give a warning growl, and her swats and bites have become very mild, not very hard and without much claw. She is still recovering and I believe will continue to build confidence. She really needs a special home where she can continue to progress, with someone who understands her occasional aggression isnt meanness, but fear, who will let her be in control and who will make her feel loved and safe. She really deserves it. Whisper is sponsored by West Coast Dog and Cat rescue who has made sure she is fixed and healthy, and will handle the adoption process. Please let me know if you might be the special person she needs.
