Please share handsome REX! Rexs owner was arrested and so was he . Thrown into a cage at the Manhattan shelter but what is worse for Rex is now he has a Death sentence. At noon tomorrow he will be euthanized. Please dont let the owners mistakes become tragedy for Rex> Help save Rex before it is to late.... A volunteer writes:Rex means King in Latin and this regal brindle beauty certainly lives up to his name - I consider it quite an honor to have met him! A compact, handsome and thoughtful boy, Rex may have the bearing of a ruler but hes checked his ego at the door and whether walking, snuggling (and kissing!) or playing with his toys, we meet as affable equals and hes never anything but relaxed and affectionate toward me. Rex does pull on the leash in his eagerness to get outside but once in harness he makes a great strolling companion, taking care of business immediately, moving along at an easy trot and seeing other dogs with intense yet friendly attention. To the casual observer Rex may look like hes stalking but once closer he seems the perfect picture of tail-wagging happiness with his canine pals and off-leash in the yard hell frequently get up to peer longingly over the fence as each new friend leaves, so disappointed that playtime is over. Rex arrived at the Care Center with his (likely) son, Max (A1006766) when their human was arrested but both dogs seem to have been very well cared for in their former home. Each is thrilled to see the other when we do a meet-n-greet through Maxs kennel door but sadly hes feeling a bit under the weather so an outdoor family reunion isnt possible right now, sorry fellas! Rex may be the man of the house but theres still plenty of puppy energy hiding behind his polished exterior and he loves to play with a tennis ball as much as the next dog. Hell sit on command (most of the time) before dashing off to grab the ball and returning to my side where I can take it right from his mouth or pick it up from the ground. Rex is keen to make a fresh start and a lifetime of love and laughter is surely in store for the lucky family who welcomes him home.
