Please share this as much as possible. Today ANOTHER vehicle came in with almost NO OIL in it. We see this constantly. I realize that manufacturers are telling you that you can go 5 or 7 thousand miles, or longer, between changes but many professional technicians do not agree with this and weve seen the cars with oil consumption issues and engine noises or leaks. These issues have gotten worse and it seems to coincide with those people who try to go that far between changes. We recommend changes every 3 to 4 thousand with good oil and good filters. At the very least, check your oil more frequently. To replace an engine is thousands of dollars but to change oil a couple of extra times a year is $50 to $60. Please share this so that people can become more aware of this problem and feel free to ask us about why we may recommend certain maintenance items more frequently than what your owners manual says.
