Please share this post from Ms. Aileen Antolin. Yesterday, Boyette - TopicsExpress

Please share this post from Ms. Aileen Antolin. Yesterday, Boyette was very fortunate to have been part of something at Vinzons Hall that echoes what we stood for since college years. While waiting for our daughter who was in the process of registration (because we would then apply for a student loan at the Loan Board), Boyette came across this old man, seemingly lost and disoriented. He had a gangrenous wound on his leg. What happened next gives me hope that Filipinos are still mostly good people at the core. Some other parents in the vicinity and a masteral student worked together to assist the old man who identified himself as Jacob Cao. They and Boyette contacted the UP Student Council upstairs and some officers came down to assist as well. The masteral student gave the old man the shirt off his back (he had an extra shirt that he changed into.) Staff from the University Food Service gave free food and slippers. Boyette happened to have my late Dads crutches in the trunk of the car (just retrieved from my parents old house, Tito Lorenzo) and gave these, as well. They called on the UP police force and guess who arrived -- one of our nemesis as student activists. [Old Vinzons comrades, especially Atty. Roan I. Libarios , you may be able to guess who :)] He and Boyette shook hands before he helped endorse Tatay Jacob to the UP Campus Barangay for the Barangay vehicle to take him to East Avenue Medical Center. It was an ambulance from the UP Health Service that brought Tatay Jacob to the Barangay Hall. It so happened that the UPHS head was attending a meeting at Vinzons Hall and facilitated this, also sending an endorsement to East Avenue Medical Center. One of the parents, Ms. Antolin, is a nurse affiliated with East Avenue Medical Center, and also helped with his admission. Please pass this story on to help any of Tatay Jacobs relatives find him. More details are in the post of Ms. Antolin.
