** Please share this post with your YorkU friends.** Hey Undergrads!!! Learn more about Graduate Scholarships! Every year graduate students receive numerous emails regarding graduate scholarship applications / information sessions / deadlines, etc. But poor undergrads hardly get informed! For those undergrads who want to apply to graduate school, I strongly urge them to apply to these scholarships. Most undergraduate students who do know about these scholarships feel that their CV is not strong enough (since they lack impressive research experience), so they never even try applying! But the fact is that at this point you are mostly evaluated based on your grades in the last 60 credits (i.e., 2 years) and research proposal, and not much your research CV. So dont worry and apply! One of the goals of the Neuroscience Association is to provide assistance to graduate and undergraduate students in preparing their graduate scholarship applications. When I was on the verge of becoming a graduate student, applying to these scholarships seemed overwhelming; preparing a CV, writing a research proposal, getting reference letters, filling in application forms, ... and I had no idea how to do it the right way. Here at Neuroscience Association you will get to ask questions from graduate students with successful applications at virtually no cost (for club members). Soon we will host a Meet the Graduates event in which we will discuss these topics in a group meeting lead by a panel of graduate students. You will also get a chance to get one-on-one assistance with your scholarship application from graduate students. Details about this event will be posted shortly. This event will be open to club members. Note: there is a $5 membership fee which grants you free access to all club events throughout the year. Also make sure you check out the Graduate Studies website to find out when the departmental scholarship information sessions take place. Neuroscience Association at York (NAY)
