Please share this video and help us find a suspected conman who targeted an elderly man. Weve released this footage of a man suspected of conning a 94-year-old out of more than £600 after claiming his car had been clamped outside his Small Heath home. The pensioner realised he had been a victim of theft shortly after the man left his home, on Hob Moor Road, at around 3pm on 29 November. The man knocked on his door a few minutes earlier asking if he could use a telephone as his car had been clamped outside. Once inside, the thief asked for money to free his car and the elderly man handed over £220. Before leaving, the greedy offender then took a further £440 from the man’s wallet. This is a very sad and distressing crime, where a thief has singled out a very elderly, vulnerable man and stolen money from his home. Luckily the man was captured on CCTV arriving at the man’s home and we now urge anyone who recognises him to contact us as soon as possible. Thankfully the victim was not harmed but was very distressed by what happened. The suspect is described as a white man, in his late 20s, around 5ft 10in tall, of heavy build, with short to medium length dark hair. He wore dark clothing and spoke with a Birmingham accent.
