Please share where appropriare, Help spread the news much of the MSN wont NEWS RELEASE PERTH AND KINROSS FOR INDEPENDENCE RALLY, SATURDAY, 18th OCTOBER Exactly a month after the referendum , the first major public rally in Perthshire since the vote will take place this Saturday 18th October Guest speakers at the rally include Perth and North Perthshire MP Pete Wishart, Lorna J. Waite from Women for Independence, former seviceman Ally Stachan from Independence 2,0, and Gordon McKay from Labour For Independence. There will also be speakers from The Scottish Green Party and the Radical Independence Campaign, plus contributions from grassroots campaigners in Perthshire. Orgnised by the newly established Perth and Kinross 45 Group, this is a day for the family. There will be live music, poetry, face painting and much more to keep the spirit of independence alive. Its aim is to show we are far from dispondent, and all those who campaigned long and hard for a Yes vote intend to remain united and carry campaigning. The specific immediate aim of the campaing will be to help maximise the pressure on Westminster to ensure the pledges for futher powers for the Scottish Palrliament, made by the leaders of the Unionist parties during the campaign are fully met. The group futher hopes to ensure pro independence canidates are elected throught Perth and Kinross whereever the opportunity arises, the first obvious one being the UK general election of May next year The Perth and Kinross 45 group is typical of the many grassroots 45 groups which have sprang up all ove Scotland since the referendum. Jen Spark, one of the Perth and Kinoss 45 organisers said: Whilst the45 represents the percentage of Scots who voted Yes on 18th October, our groups aim is to reach out way beyond them. To appeal to and in time involve those who also voted No, and convince them that independence is the way forward for Scotland Susan Rennie one of the co-organisers added This rally is just a start, but an important one. By bringing together all the parties and campaign groups who worked so hard during the referendum, we aim to keep the spirit of unity alive.
