There are still working spots available in the deal of the century obedience seminar (which happens to also be a fundraiser for DOCOF - ALL proceeds to benefit DOCOF): Date: Saturday, April 26th, 2014 Host: Pawsitively Fun Dog Training in Fort White, FL Cost: $50 for a working spot or $25 for an audit spot. (100% of the proceeds go to DOCOF to assist with the increased rent at DOCOF and sponsoring of the hospitality room at The 2014 Classic.) Presenters: Morning: Rachel Flatley - Using a Platform to Teach (or Polish) Skills Afternoon: Ken Kincaid and Aimee Kincaid - The Successful Handler in Obedience More Details: Using a Platform to Teach (or Polish) Skills - Rachel Flatley 2013 was a great year for Rachel, her dogs, and her students. Rachels dog, Wisp, was the Top Scoring Dog in the Blue Round and 2nd Place Overall in Open at The 2013 AKC Classic. Wisp went High In Trial at 50% of the shows she attended, earned 4th place her first time in Utility at DOCOF. Wisp completed multiple titles in freestyle, agility, obedience and rally. Rachels young dog, Primer, attended his one and only trial to date, DOCOF. He won Novice and went High In Trial with a 198. Rachels group was the first place team at DOCOF, earning 4 individual placements, as well as the High Tri Combined Award there. Rachels students earned over 40 new titles this year. The breeds earning those titles (in alphabetical order) are: Afghan, All American, Aussie, Border Collie, Corgi, Dalmatian, Doberman, Scottie, 3 Shelties and a Westie. What You Will Learn: * Why you should consider using platforms * What size platform your dog needs * How to make a platform * Magnetizing your dog to the platform * Incorporating the platform into your obedience or rally training * How to modify the platform to increase your dogs accuracy The Successful Handler in Obedience - Ken Kincaid and Aimee Kincaid Ken Kincaid is an AKC Obedience and Rally Judge and experienced obedience handler. Ken has been in the sport of obedience for ten years. Aimee Kincaid is an AKC Obedience and Rally Judge and has been in the sport of obedience for more the twelve years. Aimee has been training dogs for more than twenty years. Ken and Aimee have put titles on multiple dogs including CD, CDX, UD and OTCh titles.
