Please support Positive Change, Common Sense, and Practicality by voting for Meyer and Maher for the PPOA Board of Directors. Your current union leadership has been attending to pet projects such as LACOPS (still not clear on this), SCALE? CLEA (insurance?), golf, advising tabloid blogging. They have not been joining the County Coalition of Unions. This coalition negotiates and bargains for our benefits. PPOA has NO seat at that table. Ask your friendly neighborhood LA County Fireman about his/her families dental plan, and the fact their children are covered for braces. PPOA members, not so much. Current union leadership have not been joining the Big 11 (see attachment regarding this coalition of Ca. Large LE unions) According to several contacts with union leaders from the biggest LE unions in California, PPOAs absence from this very strong coalition is a direct result of current PPOA leadership. PPOAs voice has become a squeak in Sacramento. Meyer and Maher will work to extend an olive branch and repair damaged and abandoned relationships with these powerful sister unions. It is time to remove the I from PPOA and replace it with We. Demand your union allow a general membership vote on issues related to important political endorsements and large campaign donations! PPOA belongs to all members, not any outside politician and even more importantly, not an inside politician. Please vote Meyer and Maher for Positive Change.
