Please take a few moments to read this. This is why we should still believe in Bafana Bafana. We have come a long way since our failure to qualify for the Fifa 2014 world cup,embarrassing 0-5 loss to Brazil & depressing back to back loses to our african rivals Nigeria!. We even broke records for all the wrong reasons! like being the first world cup hosts, not to get pass the group stages-in the history of the tournament. We were an international joke. We were even viewed as a Bunch of LOSERSby our own sports Minister. But today we can be proud of ourselves as we are currently ranked #12 best team in Africa! How did we achieve this? We had to go through our 1st group of death,so we could qualify for the CAF tournament. We battled against 3 good teams that are ranked in the top 40 in africa (Nigeria =ranked #9, Congo =ranked #15 & Sudan =ranked #31). Not only did we qualify for CAF,we did it convincingly, with out any loss. We did not stop there,we went on to draw with Cameroon(ranked 8th),we beat Zambia (ranked 11th)1-0 & we also finaly thrashed Mali(ranked 10th) 3-0! This is not the Bafana Bafana of 2003-->early 2014! No, this is a whole new inspired team we should all be proud of! A team reminiscent of the 1996 team! Lets be real,we are the underdogs in this Group of Death. Our oppositions are all ranked in top 5 in africa! Our 1st match against #1 Ranked team in Africa;ALGERIA, was a brilliant 1 that we lost due to 2 things: lack of finishing goal scoring opportunities & loss of composure. We dominated through out,but just couldnt get the right finish. Our 2nd match against #4 ranked team in Africa,Senegal; was another exciting match we dominated,but couldnt win. We improved from our 1st match but just couldnt capitalise on our chances again! The only advantages that Senegal had on us, was their height & physical superiority,but we controlled the pace of the game and created more chances than they did! Ultimately we had to settle for a draw. With the coming match against #5 ranked team in Africa,GHANA; we wont lose or draw, we will just thrash Ghana, because thats the only option we have left. We already used up the other 2 options on higher ranked teams,so were only left with the WINNING option now lol. Basicaly all were saying is this, dont write Bafana Bafana off! We will win against Ghana! Either way, we are leaving this Group of Death with a win against a top 5 ranked team.We have come a long way in a short space of time to give up now. We only lost 1 match since Shakes Mashaba took over. We should look at the positive improvements & beyond this tournament,as we are only Getting better with every match we play,& on the right track to being 1 of the best in the world! We aiming for top 10 in the world! We will beat our previous top 20 Fifa ranking. Yes we will! As South Africans we should believe in our national team,as we are all part of Bafana Bafana!
