Please take a look at Rachaels message and question. Its a tough one for all of us, and Ive personally felt guilty for feeling like Im letting friends and family down when I cant do what they can do. But I now just lay it on the line and am blunt with the reasons why I cant go out to certain places, etc.; and in my case, my loved ones understand and now consider my limitations before scheduling something. Please share how you handle these difficult situations. ~ Christina From Rachael: First, let me just say. I am SO glad that i joined this site. It has helped me in so many ways in such a short amount of time.. just knowing that im not alone in the fight with crohns, colitis, ibd, and all of those other terrible things we go through helps me look at life so differently. I am so thankful for everyones understanding and kind words! Thank you so much! Had another question if anyone is reading. How does everyone deal with.. hm. When your friends, and even family sometimes, ask you to go to a party or a friends house, a concert, vacation, etc., how do you deal with constantly trying to explain to people that #1. I dont ever know for sure if ill even be able to crawl out of bed that day or if i say yes, i will probably end up having to cancel because i feel like crap, and #2. Thank you for asking me, but 99% of the time, my stomach hates me and doesnt want me to be at a gathering with a bunch of people and one bathroom. So much stress. And i always feel like im making people mad or they think i just dont want to see them, and thats just not the case. I feel like im a broken record and i keep having to tell my friends that i cant hang out or whatever.. and they still dont understand. Sigh. Anyone else feel the same?
