Please take a look at the new Filled Lands Advisory Group: During the 2013 Regular Legislative Session, we considered the merits of SB-479 – which proposed to divest the state from its ownership interest in historically filled lands created before 1963. The result was the establishment of an advisory group to deliberate on and propose possible solutions to this issue. The purpose of the Filled Lands Advisory Group (FLAG) is to provide input into the process for settling historically filled land claims that is fair to the respective owners and the state. The issue of ownership of filled submerged and submersible lands is an extremely important one throughout the district.
