Please take a moment and let this sink in. Tonight on my way to drop my friend off after a fun night we see what we guess is a dead/ injured skunk in the road. As we get closer we discover its a cat. As a concerned mother I put my flashers on and get out of the car for further inspection. As I get close I see this baby was hit and killed and died of severe blood loss to the head and the side of his beautiful is smashed. I walk back to my car and drop my friend off. I turn back to where this angel is laying in the street. I park my car turn my flashers back on and grab a rag from the back of my jeep. I take this baby and pick his now stiff body up and move him to the side of the street/sidewalk to prevent further damage to his battered body. I stand on the side of the road and weep for this small life lost. As soon as I get home I scrub my hands to remove any scent. My own baby comes to greet me hes so happy Im home. I weep again as I hold him tight glad he is safe in his home away from the dangers of the outside. I weep for the family that will wonder where their child has gone and will never return home. I know that everyone has different views when it comes to their pets/children. Next time you let your cat outside think, will this be the last time I see my cat alive. I would never let a human child that doesnt understand the dangers of cars, and strangers outside alone so why would I let my cat? If you care about the well being of cat think twice before opening that door. I have no problem taking a cat I see outside to the shelter where it can find a safe home. Take care if your cat or either someone will or your cat could be killed. Either way that little baby you love could be lost to you forever. I consider it animal abuse and Im not sorry if that offends you. Its your job to care for this life you took responsibility for. This is a mother against Animal safety neglect.
