Please take a moment to send your positive thoughts and prayers to a fellow Orange County DIPG warrior. Mikey has been fighting DIPG for over 3 1/2 years, but in the past few weeks the disease has come back with a vengeance. Because of this Mikey will not be allowed into the new trial that his family hoped would give him more time. I hate DIPG. I hate what it does to our innocent children. I hate that because childrens cancers are not profitable, new clinicals leading to improved treatments are few and far between. Because of this, a mother and father are devastated as their child looks to them for answers, and they have none to offer. Unless you have been in that position, you have no idea the utter despair and guilt a parent feels as they look into their childs eyes and tell them there is nothing that can be done. My heart is breaking once again.
