We need your help in fighting an ugly move to delegitimize Israel. The Methodist Church of the United Kingdom is conducting a survey about the course of action it should take in the Middle East. The Church is asking for input about a variety of questions, including participation in the worldwide Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) effort to isolate and destroy the Jewish State. Anyone can participate in the survey, but all responses need to be received by 8:00am (London time) Monday, Nov. 4th. The responses will shape Methodist resolutions at their 2014 General Conference. The questions themselves show significant anti-Israel bias. The Methodists are not sending out questionnaires about what to do regarding the ethnic cleansing of Christians in Iraq, the 100,000 dead so far in Syria, the roadside executions of Christians in Nigeria, or the plight of over 10 million Coptic Christians living in mortal fear in Egypt. The movement’s information comes from the notorious Kairos Palestine Document (KPD), which was condemned wall-to-wall by Jewish groups in the United States. KPD reintroduces supersessionism and replacement theology (which has fanned the flames of anti-Semitism for centuries) into the vocabulary of Christians. It is slanted in placing all the blame for Middle Eastern tensions upon Israel.
