Please watch and consider filing a comment at the FCCs website here: apps.fcc.gov/ecfs/upload/display?z=ucp1v. I left the following comment: As a citizen of the United States and a member of our worlds community, it is my sincere wish that my governments representatives maintain the policy of strict net neutrality, not allowing telecommunication companies the right to give preferential treatment in exchange for financial rewards. A free and equal playing field is one of the last and greatest catalysts of commercial and intellectual innovation, as well as free speech. The recent punitive actions by Comcast against Netflix (severely limiting streaming speeds during the period of negotiations), is a clear example of how abandoning net neutrality will lead to unethical and monopolistic behavior. Telecommunication companies speak of fast lanes and hyper-fast lanes, but the reality has already been made perfectly clear: companies such as Comcast will allow certain customers of their choosing to operate as normal, and extort those that are unwilling or unable to satisfy their demands. Comcast has already demonstrated this behavior in their punitive treatment of Netflix (and millions of Netflixs customers who use Comcast). Please learn from the reality presently unfolding and maintain net neutrality at all costs—18 million+ in lobbying funds from Comcast notwithstanding.
