I love and am proud of my husband, Steve Murphy for his service in the military and his service as a police officer. As the wife of an officer, I could tell you so many stories. I will share a funny one. A young man committed a crime and Steve (much older than the much younger man) had to chase him on foot. Officers wear about 30 pounds of stuff around their waste on the Sam Brown belt. Well, Steve had to chase him and hurdle a fence and he was keeping up with this guy. Finally they ran out of room and the guy ran down into some briers. Steve, said, dont make me have to come down in there, just come on out. This is after a chase with the flight or fight kicking in, adrenaline rushing, and unknowing if they guy has a gun or knife or what. But, the guy said, Im coming out, and he did. He turned around so Steve could cuff him and then looked back around at Steve, and how old Steve was, and said something like, You can run for an old man! Then he turned around again and offered Steve a fist bump with his cuffed hands and Steve gave him one!
