Please watch this if you have a few minutes. Youll make your own minds up but I found it frustrating, depressing and yet - at the same time - very encouraging. I would probably vote for Reza Aslan as the leader of the world based on this interview and as for the newsreaders.... good grief! Until people are ready to stop seeing the rest of the world in such a simplistic way, we will make no progress at all. Until we are prepared to try and understand the complex differences that exist between us, whilst acknowledging those things that we clearly have in common, we will continue to view others with a destructive paranoia and with contempt. The truth as presented to us by mainstream media is often so skewed and biased as to be rendered wholly unrepresentative of what is actually going on. Here it seeks to discredit someone who is trying to bring some perspective to the situation which is obviously about as welcome as a fox in a hen house. Its as if theres a director in their ears going Keep things simple! All the people need to know is who the bad guys are; who theyve got to hate and blame everything on. If you let this guy convince them that its more complicated than that and that there isnt really one single group of people to hate, itll confuse everything and theyll be forced to think rather than simply swallow the crap we keep force-feeding them.
