Please welcome Gracie to The Forgotten Kitty Rescue (TFKR). This poor baby has been through hell and back! A few weeks ago some people saw her dragging her back legs and looking pregnant. Gracie let them approach her, pick her and take her to the vet without any fuss. Upon examination by a vet, it was found she had been pregnant but her babies had died during the process. The vet estimated shed been in labor at least 2 days and the deceased babies were laying on the nerve(s) that control her back legs! Gracie was rushed into surgery just in time to save her life. While she was already under for surgery the vet went ahead and spayed her and SNAP tested her (all negative). Gracie was kept mostly sedated for a couple of days to allow her poor body to heal. No one was sure how she would be once she was feeling better. Would she be feral? As it turns out, Gracie was not feral at all and was very friendly! After recovering for a couple weeks, the vets office realized they would need to find her a foster home for the rest of her recovery. Thats where TFKR comes in, to allow this sweet kitty a place to finish healing until she is ready to find her forever home. Gracie should be ready to find her forever home by Memorial Day weekend. A home check, adoption fee (to be determined still) and adoption application will all be required.
