We not only stand up for who Jimi was by doing this, but we have the chance to voice having the word integrity put into how the news is broadcast. This is what I just sent to them: In reporting the news, you are our eyes and ears to the truth in what we cant see and hear on our own. In every word you print or say, you choose how each sentence will be shaped and interpreted. You paint the canvas of how truth is unfolded. This is where the news and how it is broadcast, becomes more than mere headlines and ratings. Within the core of your own individual integrity, you become a vessel of honor. According to the definition from Wikipedia, Integrity means: Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, and morals. [Integrity] is a personal choice, an uncompromising and predictably consistent commitment to honor moral, ethical, spiritual and artistic values and principles. On the story you reported recently on Jimi Jamison, this was not done. With the words Jimi Jamison died of Meth overdose, printed across the TV screen, immediate judgement clouds any other truth. With someone, like Jimi, who breathed what integrity meant to the soul of Memphis and its people, he did not deserve to be just another headline of sensationalism. He earned your respect and only with a follow up story to this truth, will it gain you any respect from so many of your viewers who were deeply hurt by this act of thoughtlessness. This only hurts the trust in your viewers and will reflect eventually in the ratings.
