Pliz dont IGNORE ......... Pliz dont scroll down without reading...... Here is a small story I would love to share to everyone..... As of today, we all know about the ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE.... the turning into Desi version of R+ICE Bucket Challenge and now this Rice Bucket Challenge Manipur. But my story is not about the changing colors of this challenge, but the truth which comes out when I volunteered to take up this challenge... It is not the story of half naked picture which gets over 1 million LIKES but The Naked TRUTH.... Today, when My family went to B B Paul Mental Development Home(special school), Monsangei, Imphal West, MANIPUR to take up the challenge, some heart breaking truth revealed. The home is really a Home For Mentally Retarded Children a Paradise and a cozy place for them to spend the rest of their not so wonderful life on this wonderful planet. The small campus housed a Vocational Training Centre for Mental Retardation (M R), a centre for Diploma in Special Education for M R and also a Higher Training centre. The home is run by a registered parents association with the help of 150 dedicated persons doing all the odd jobs from cooking/cleaning to teaching the children. The home is also the only State nodal agency and State Information centre for M R. But the home is facing an immediate danger of getting a TOTAL SHUT DOWN because of lack of fund. As told by the Secretary of the home, there is no further funding from the State Govt. even though this is the only State nodal agency for M R as well as State Information Centre for M R. The home is sustaining from the meager fund from Ministry of Justice and Empowerment and Nation Institute of Mental Handicap, Secunderabad. That also withheld because of the new Govt. in the centre for more than 5 months....... In such a situation the parents are contributing from their pockets to run the home. On the onset of taking up the so call Bucket challenge, I thought of taking it to a next level by not giving a bucket of rice but a little larger quantity to a group of people rather than to an individual. So, my family choose a less privileged group and earn a complete satisfaction of GIVING. But after listening to their sorrowful story, I think, what that mare 100 kgs of RICE and the little amount of snacks for them, will do to the fate of 120 children staying at the home.......??????? Do I complete the RICE BUCKET CHALLENGE????? Writing this piece of story to share to the whole world, I still hear the words of appreciation from everyone and see those happy and innocent faces which understand nothing but enjoy the Juice and snacks without the worry of their UNCERTAIN TOMORROW.....
