The aim of the Conference is to attract young and emerging leaders in all sectors in the country and provide hope and inspiration to one another. The Theme of the Conference is “Zambia at 50, Answering the Call of Leadership” The Conference has also been inspired by Leviticus 25-10 and Isaiah 61:1-11 that the 50th year in a life of a nation is a year liberty, freedom and God’s favour is proclaimed throughout the land. Leviticus 25-10, “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you”, And Isaiah 61; 1-11, “….the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lords favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; …..they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations”. The Jubilee Conference is being held and hosted by Leadership Conferences Foundation (LCF), a non-profit organization established to promote diverse ideas and health views that build and promote the economic, social, and political development of Zambia and helps discover and build capacity in young and emerging leaders. For purposes of this special Jubilee Conference, Leadership Conferences Foundation (LCF) as an organisation has appointed, Dr, Reverend Japhet Ndhlovu as Convener of this event. Dr. Rev. Ndhlovu is with the United Church of Canada, and he is currently based in Levin’s Cov, Newfoundland in Canada Speakers include leaders such as Dr. Maureen Mwanawasa, Former First Lady and lawyer, His Worship the Mayor of Lusaka and Engineer, Mulenga Sata. Others are Hon Miles Sampa, Member of Parliament for Matero, Hon. Vincent Mwale, Member of Parliament for Chipangali and Chair of the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC), Hon Cornelius Mwetwa, Chairman of African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC) and Member of Parliament for Choma Constituency. Others are ZCTU Secretary General, Roy Mwaba and Judiciary and Allied Workers Union President, Peter Mwale and others, Cholwee Mudenda, Pastor and host of, Night of Destiny conferences, Dr. Joseph Kayaya and Stephen Kyengula, Student Association, and many emerging and young leaders. At the Conference, a group of founding fathers led by Dr. Vernon Johnson Mwaanga will perform a symbolic act of handing over a torch of light and leadership to a representative of the young and emerging leaders to signify a generation change of leadership.
