Pls correct me if I am wrong As per recent RTI letter answer by AAI regarding Surat Runway Cap limitations, it means above 78400 Kg aircraft beyond two aircraft can’t be operated per day considering recent condition of STV Runway. But aircraft below above Kg mention can be operated like small jets, Regional Aircraft and Turbo prop and there should not be any harm for the same. It’s an advantage for Regional jets and private operators NSOP ops to grab potential market from STV till the time further wide body aircraft will be allowed for additional flight ops from STV after rectification of Runway. STV needs an few additional Regional Jets flight ops that is suitable as per load for Two and Three tier cities connectivity like BLR, GOA, TRV etc, Metros have been well connected through wide body aircraft as of now from stv. There is also a need to promote above connectivity for two and three tier sectors direct flight ops that will able to feed deserving load and operator will also get sufficient load for medium size Regional jet Aircraft. Though currently there is lot of via connectivity is available from STV, there are very less Direct flight available which is well deserved as per STV potential.
