Pls send healing thoughts to Yang, the Siamese Wonder cat, at FIV Cat Rescue. He was limping and his right elbow was swollen. After X-rays, radiologists at first thought it was a synovial cyst so ultrasounds were done and fluid drawn. The fluid was abnormal. Instead of being a little thicker than water, it was thick like glue. Yang’s case caught the attention of all the radiologists so it was used as a rounds case where a bunch of radiologists discuss interesting cases as a learning tool. Their consensus is that it could be a synovial cyst, septic arthritis (infection in the joint), or neoplasia (cancer). Needless to say we are waiting with concern as to just what Yang has. Please don’t let it be cancer! BTW, Yang will be 15 yrs-old in May. He is one the favorites of visitors to FIV Cat Rescue. I’m posting some photos. The first is of Yang holding up his right leg as if to say, “Look what they did to my elbow!” Believe me, he knows how to get attention. He is milking this for all it’s worth. :-)
