Plumlov Chateau is one of the most unusual chateaus of the Czech - TopicsExpress

Plumlov Chateau is one of the most unusual chateaus of the Czech Republic. Its unusual aspect of the chateau grows out from the fact that it is an unfinished one. This monumental chateau is situated in the small quaint town of Plumlov (about 8 km west of the town of Prostějov) and is set on a small lake where the reflection of its can be seen. History of the Plumlov Castle - there was a site which was built in the 13th century. It was at the site of that very castle that the early mannerist Plumlov chateau was constructed between 1680 and 1688. The credit for the foundation of this chateau goes to Johann Adam of Liechtenstein. The imposing Plumlov chateau on the bank of the dam lake is only a remnant of the monumental plan for a noble manor. So, Plumlov chateau stands next to the ruins of a medieval stronghold - Plumlov castle that stood here since the 2nd 13th century and the Thirty Years War was very damaged. The original plan of the Plumlov chateau spoke about four towers. However, all the four were never built and instead only a single one was established. Karl Eusebius was interested in the restoration and the renovation of the chateau. He was the person who came up with the idea of four wings to be built in the Renaissance style. However, only one of the four intended wings was built (as I mentioned before). A particularly impressive feature is the forefront with its large columns and stucco decorations. Three distinct tours are offered to the public on all floors of the chateau, including two cellar levels and the attic. The third tour is unique in that it takes visitors to the unfinished part of the chateau. Numerous international music and theatre festivals take place at the chateau and its surroundings each year. As thanks for your positive evaluations my photos, which were taken in Plumlov Chateau, I‘m sending you a video - Chateau: Zámek Plumlov. The video is without words, so that why I have shortly described in the English langure. In my opinion, it’s well worth a visit to the chateau just for its strange architecture which looks like it could fall down the hill that it is built upon at any moment. THANK YOU ALL, YOU GUYS!!! youtu.be/5eMVzC3kTC4
