Plzz dont mind , I may sound pessimistic to most bt i sincerely believe,we as a society have failed.While its so easy to blame nature and then our defunct system for the causalities during calamities, we as an IRRESPONSIBLE,INSENSITIVE AND CORRUPT SOCIETY should take most of the blame. we have all the departments of disaster management in place. yet just after a couple of days of rain, or a couple of days of snow or even a couple of days of hot sunshine, we are left at the mercy of nature and even people who r supposed to devise mechanisms for our safety from such small scale calamities, say pray to Allah for stoppage of rain/ snow. one may ask them what are u being paid for. what has changed since ancient time?. Even then we were left at the mercy of nature and even now in the 21st century we are left at the mercy of nature again. we lack sincere innovative thinkers in these disaster management units who would devise methods to safeguard people from natural calamities of manageable magnitude.we lack law enforcements agencies who would prevent people to construct homes on the banks of rivers, inside flood channels. who would consider no sifarish when it comes to enrooting flood channels through every vulnerable/ low-lying area. But being a part of the society, I know nothing has changed, nothing is changing and nothing would change even after 100 years from now. And in 2114, we would be again left at the mercy of nature, after a couple of days of rain, and we would be losing precious lives even then, because we were, we are and we would remain an IRRESPONSIBLE, INSENSITIVE AND CORRUPT SOCIETY.
