Poem 24/30: To Her Daughters, The Mother Said, If He comes to you burdened with indecisiveness, Spill your intentions at his feet Do not corner him by force Allow him to acknowledge the door If he opens it, Let him out. If he stays, Wash his feet If He glares at it In contemplation Guard your heart Keep it beating inside your chest There are plenty apples on the tree With seeds for you to plant And there will come a season For reaping
