Poetic Anthem – Bayelsa State Sip from the Nectar of Nature Don’t quench the echoes of merry Nature’s wonders lay on your shores In splendour, nature’s strengths exude Soothing, soulful and in splendid allure glow Land of immortal legends, Oh charming *Bayelsa Your craving is endless, and your beauty matchless Your sight is flawless, and your worth priceless You’re awe-inspiring, magically intriguing Your splendour alluring and your yields blissful The sparky waters take all on hearty voyage And soulfully draw hearty tears to eyelids Peace sprouts in your orchard Upon you, sun avails no slumber And the moon dazzles on grey waters Hermitage at your healing feet, many seek Your beauty who can ever interrogate Your allures and grandeur, Oh land Oh haven within the reach of man Calming and cooling shrine of nature Rapture my weary drooping heart And bring me to your sizzling grandeur, Heal my flabby weary body, heal it to my soul Hundreds of thirsty souls sit at your feet, Near and far they stretch their quests The sight of mortals propels your vigour As though you avail all your healing arms And hold them breathless in unending spree *Bayelsa State lies with the South South Region of Nigeria…Light Shedrack{c}2014.
