Poetry month is joyfully jam-packed, full of events, this is one I believe so many will enjoy.... WED. APRIL 9....OST Oblate School of Theology is proud to announce a Book Signing and Reception for Celina Villagarcia OST alumna (2012) and author of Pulp, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Whitley Lounge Oblate School of Theology will be hosting Celina Villagarcia for a book signing and reception, open to the public and is a free event.......she will be reading from and signing her book, PULP......a beautiful and edgy collection of poems that celebrate both the power and gentleness of women, the grace of the maternal, the everness of the antepasadas, and the essence of belonging in multi-geographies in more than one language. I am very proud of Celinas work, which I loved from the moment it hit my desk as she allowed me into her poems as a manuscript consultant and, subsequently, as a literary agent [which is rare in poetry] for many reasons.....I believe that the poet and publisher/editor [Mouthfeel Press, Maria Miranda Maloney] were meant to sister each other..... A million congratulations to you, Celina Villagarcia, on the excellent recognition of your work....to include having been a semi-finalist for a series of poems, in which the likes of Martin Espada were finalists and winners.....it is, indeed, time----for your work in the world. I am loving watching it visit the people.......
