Point of order to anybody paying respect to Gough by saying, We will never see his like again: I understand what youre trying to say, but never is a shitty and defeatist statement, that actually disrespects the mans tremendous optimism. Gough still holds a special place in our collective imagination because he was a visionary who believed in people and possibility. We need to raise our heads, take inspiration and make his example the yardstick by which we measure those who aspire to lead. Thanks, Gough. We will be blessed to see your like again.
