Poisoning, shocking, burning, and killing animals is all in a days - TopicsExpress

Poisoning, shocking, burning, and killing animals is all in a days work for vivisectors. If these barbaric acts were committed outside laboratories, they would be felonies! YET, animals suffer and die every day in laboratories with little or no protection from cruelty. All this, in the name of so-called science, is unethical. It is archaic! Forward-thinking, intelligent, scientists have developed humane, modern, and effective non-animal research methods, including human-based microdosing, in vitro technology, human-patient simulators, etc, that are cheaper, faster, and more accurate than animal tests. Species-difference is why these animal tests are completely unreliable. Results that had resulted positive in animals, have proved to be absolutely disasterous when applied to humans. Did you know that, disgustingly, 112, 835 animals were experimented on last year in Irish laboratories? In our very own country! Even a former director of Huntingdon Life Sciences (which is one of Europe’s largest animal testing facilities) admitted that animal tests only correctly predict effects in humans 5-25% of the time. Compare that to the fact that human cell culture tests have proven to be 80% accurate - NARA. Apart from that, the world really does NOT need another eyeliner, hand soap, food ingredient, perfume or pesticide so badly that it should come at the expense of animals lives. Its common sense! These animals are sentient beings, they feel pain just like any of us do. Their only escape from this unnecessary testing, is death. Isnt that sad, to say the least? One thing, in particular, which totally disturbs and disgusts me, is that people are willing to wear animal-tested cosmetics. Believing that animals are needed for Science is a bit more understandable, considering that its most likely what people are raised to believe, but torturing, burning, poisoning an innocent animal, all so you can have that Rimmel lipstick? It does NOT make sense! By contributing to this mass suffering, YOU are the problem. YOU are one of the reasons why this is happening to these vulnerable, sentient beings. YOU are a part of the problem, and only YOU can help put an end to this horrific suffering. There are dozens of cruelty-free cosmetics available. As a woman who wears make-up seven days a week, I NEVER need to resort to using animal-tested cosmetics. Why would I, when theres so many ethical alternatives? Some brands that test on animals includes: Rimmel, Crest, LOreal, No.7, Bourjois, Max Factor, Colgate, Huggies, Unilever, Pantene, Pearl Drops, Neutrogena, Woolite, Avon, The Body Shop, Duracell, Aquafresh, IAMS, Olay, Wella, Garnier, FCUK, Garnier, Revlon, Orignal Source, Palmolive, Old Spice, Herbal Essences, Lynx, Always, Vicks, Gillette, Dove, Slim-Fast, HB, Mars, Febreeze, Lemsip, Listerine, Clean & Clear... Appalling, isnt it?! Check your make-up bags, your presses, under your sink, the vast majority of items you use will have come at a price for these animals. Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, primates, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked inside cold, barren cages in laboratories across the country. They languish in pain, and all they can do is sit and wait in fear of the next terrifying and painful procedure that will be performed on them. #FreedomForAllThatLives.
