Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket C-25, carrying Indias - TopicsExpress

Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket C-25, carrying Indias first ever interplanetary mission to planet Mars, successfully lifted off from the launchpad at Sriharikota (SHAR) space port at 2:38 PM IST. The Exploration Craft is called Mangalyan, with an orbiter craft designed to orbit Mars in an elliptical orbit, which will reach Martian Orbit in about 9 months time from now. The successful mission places India in the elite club of Nations (ISRO is just the 4th Space Agency, after NASA(US), Roscosmos(Russian) and ESA (European consortium). With a relatively meager budget of 450 Crores, this is indeed a spectacular achievement. TFI congratulates and salutes ISRO Scientists for this outstanding achievement, on behalf of a proud Nation.
