Police Dispatcher Wanted Chatham seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Police Dispatcher. The responsibilities of the position include receiving and transmitting written and oral communications from the public and law enforcement personnel so that appropriate actions can be taken. The position will use computer and other communication equipment to receive and transmit information, and the incumbent must be highly skilled at customer service and multitasking. The position also requires the ability to work in a high stress environment and requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive law enforcement information. The position is a rotating days off shift schedule that supports the department’s 24 hour operation. The successful candidate will be at least 21 years of age, have at least a high school diploma, with college preferred, and complete a background investigation. Application deadline is July 26, 2013.
