Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault of a 35-year-old man within the Regent Bar, Montrose Terrace. The incident occurred at around 12.30am yesterday morning. As the victim approached the bar, he was confronted by four men, one of whom then struck the 35-year-olds face with a glass. The victim sustained severe facial injuries, which will cause permanent disfigurement. He was taken for treatment at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and has now been released. The suspects immediately left the premises and walked away in the direction of London Road. The first suspect, who was responsible for the attack, is described as a white man, with a Mediterranean appearance. He is between 5ft4 and 5ft8 in height and in his early 30s. He has a slight build, brown eyes and short brown hair with a side parting. He also has a Scottish accent and was wearing a blue sweater. The second suspect is described as a white man in his mid 20s to early 30s. He is around 5ft6-5ft10 in height with a heavy/ muscular build. He has brown hair and was wearing a dark pullover and trousers. The third man is also described as white and in his mid 20s to early 30s. He has a stocky build, red-brownish hair and a squint.
