Police Scotland received a report at about 08:04 hours this morning (Wednesday 10 December 2014) with regards to a suspicious package outside an address on Wimberley Way, Inverness. In the interest of public safety, a police cordon was established in the area and following enquiries into the matter, the package was found to be non-suspicious. Police Scotland would like to praise the response of those involved in the incident, who acted entirely appropriately and we would thank the public for their patience and co-operation during the incident. Police would seek this opportunity to remind members of the public that if you do notice anything suspicious or unusual: • NEVER involve yourself. • NEVER touch any suspicious packages. • NOTE the details - descriptions, registration numbers or markings. • CALL the police. In an emergency, call the Police on 999 immediately, otherwise contact your local office – as always your information can be treated in confidence.
