Police appeal for information after man injured – Newcastle Police are appealing for information after a man was found with injuries in Newcastle last night. About 11pm (Saturday 24 May 2014), a 23-year-old man left a hotel on King Street and began walking towards Islington when it is believed he was approached and assaulted in the Newcastle West area. A short time later, the man was stopped by a concerned pedestrian, who alerted emergency services. The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital to be treated for wounds to his arms. Officers attached to Newcastle City LAC - NSW Police Force attended and commenced investigations. They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone with information to contact them via Crime Stoppers or Newcastle Police Station.
