Police appeal for witnesses after robbery - Nowra Police from the Shoalhaven Local Area Command are appealing for information following the robbery of an elderly female outside a shopping centre at Nowra yesterday afternoon. About 3.45pm yesterday (Monday 29 July 2013) a 78-year-old female was pushing a shopping trolley near the southern entrance of a shopping centre on East St, Nowra when a man approached her and attempted to take the purse she was carrying. The female attempted to hold onto her purse however the male pulled the purse away causing her to fall onto the concrete. The female received minor injuries to her knees and elbows. Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command attended the scene a short time later. Patrols of the area were also conducted but the man was not located. The man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 20 – 30 years old, 185cm tall, slim build and dark hair. He was wearing a light coloured hooded jumper and jeans. Police urge anyone with information about the robbery who has not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
