Police are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery at Bexley this morning (Thursday 17 April 2014). About 1.15am two males, armed with a small axe and a firearm, approached the front of a licensed premise in Forest Road near the intersection of Stoney Creek Road. When denied entry by security the males forced their way into the building. A number of patrons were threatened as the men demanded money from the staff. When they were unable to obtain cash, the pair left the building empty-handed. The first male is described as wearing dark tracksuit pants and long-sleeved grey top. He was carrying the small axe. The second male is described as wearing grey tracksuit pants and a dark hooded jumper. He was carrying a firearm. There have been no reports of injury. The males were last seen running along Kingsland Road South. A crime scene was established and this was examined by specialist forensic personnel.
