Police are appealing for public assistance following a break and enter at a business in Coffs Harbour. About 2.30am on Thursday 19 June 2014, a holding yard on Industrial Drive, was broken into and three new motor vehicles were stolen, including two Ford Rangers and an Isuzu DMax. A number of vehicle parts were also stolen at this time. The total estimated property value is in excess of $170,000. Strike Force Doura, consisting of officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, was established to investigate the incident. On Friday 20 June 2014, police executed a search warrant at a premise in Coffs Harbour, and seized a number of items that police will allege were stolen from the holding yard. On Sunday 22 June 2014, police executed a search warrant at a rural property in Upper Orara, and seized further items that will be alleged to have been stolen from the holding yard. The three vehicles were located and seized in nearby bushland in Orara West State Forest. Coffs/Clarence Crime Manager Detective Acting Inspector Peter O’Reilly said, “This is an extremely serious offence and we are committed to finding the offenders. “Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the aggravated break and enter to contact Coffs Harbour Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Detective Acting Inspector O’Reilly said.
