Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was approached in Charlestown yesterday afternoon. About 4pm (Wednesday 30 April 2014), a 13-year-old boy was walking along E K Avenue, when he heard a car slow down beside him. The boy turned and a man driving an older model orange Holden sedan yelled out to him, frightened he ran from the car. The car drove off towards Hillsborough Road. Police were contacted and an investigation was commenced by Lake Macquarie Local Area Command. The driver was described to police as Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 30’s, with short hair, the car had white registration plates and had a black sticker in the rear window. Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the car.
